As we come out of the coronavirus pandemic, how will Oregonians feel? What will they value about living in the state, and what issues will be most important to them? How will they want Oregon to function and look in the years ahead?
These will be important questions to which we’ll need reliable, trusted answers. The Oregon Values and Beliefs Center intends to provide those answers by creating an independent, nonpartisan entity that maintains regular engagement with all Oregonians. This includes urban and rural areas of the state, and people across a variety of demographics and communities.
Oregonians will be facing many complicated issues, whether its economic development, affordable housing, education, health-care, transportation, or climate change. The Oregon Values and Beliefs Center will provide current and improved public opinion research on these and other issues to our private, public, and nonprofit organizations and make sure Oregonians’ voices are heard in the work they do shaping our future. It will also show areas of agreement between Oregonians, providing us with positive starting points for more productive discussions about the kind of future we want for our communities and state.
