RESEARCH PARTNERS
Organizations often reach out to OVBC with issues their communities are facing. Whether these issues are statewide, regional, or local, partners help envision questionnaires that best reflect their community’s needs, giving OVBC the insight needed to ask questions that will be most helpful for these communities.
The Agora Journalism Center is focused on strengthening the local information landscape through fostering and nurturing community-centered journalism. The center released an assessment on Oregon’s local news ecosystem in 2022 and continues to be a resource for local journalists and editors.
The Asain Health and Service Center seeks to reduce health inequity and improve health care quality for all Asians, while being the bridge between Asian and American cultures, building a harmonious community.
APANO unites Asians and Pacifc Islanders to build power, develop leaders, and advance equity through organizing, advocacy, community development, and cultural work.
The Center for Science Communication Research at The University of Oregon: The University of Oregon (UO) is a public research university. The Center for Science Communication Research (SCR) is housed in the School of Journalism and Communication at UO. Their mission is to make complex information useful to improve people’s lives.

The Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC) collaborates with the city and county governments of Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson Counties and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs to provide services related to workforce development; education; transportation; community and economic development; and natural resources. COIC also partners with businesses and nonprofit organizations in central Oregon to fulfill its mission.

Children’s Institute works to improve the lives of Oregon children from prenatal to grade 5 who face institutional or systemic barriers to opportunity, including those from low-income families, children of color, children with disabilities, multilingual learners, and children in rural areas through research, policy advocacy, learning initiatives, and community partnerships. The organization is dedicated to making sure every child is healthy, safe, and has what they need to become an active, engaged learner.

Columbia Economic Team promotes the creation, retention, growth, and attraction of business and industry throughout the county. CET is a private and public membership organization that serves Columbia County.
Every Child Oregon mobilizes the community to uplift children and families impacted by foster care in Oregon. Every Child provides relational, community, and tangible support for families; shares the realities of foster care while demonstrating a positive, collaborative, and hopeful tone that challenges the stereotypes associated with the system and those involved; and raises up new foster (resource) parents by sharing the need for more foster families while providing meaningful ways for anyone and everyone to get involved in child welfare at any level.
Foundations for a Better Oregon (FBO) advances Oregon’s commitment to support every child to learn, grow, and thrive. We bridge community, policymakers, and philanthropy to collaborate toward realizing a shared long-term vision for our children and young people.
North Star Civic advances their mission through concrete projects and initiatives with a clear beginning, middle and an end. Through all of our projects we aim to deliver outcomes at three levels: Concrete changes to policy and practice; Development of elected and community leaders; A strengthened, connected ecosystem of values-driven organizations.
Oregon Consumer Justice is committed to advancing consumer justice, shaping an equitable and inclusive marketplace, and improving Oregonians’ rights as consumers through advocacy, legal support, community engagement, and consumer outreach.

Oregon State Treasury is focused on improving the financial well-being of all Oregonians. They provide low-cost programs for governments and empower Oregonians to invest in themselves and their loved ones for a more secure future.
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is a community partner in shaping a livable city. We plan, build, manage and maintain an effective and safe transportation system that provides people and businesses access and mobility. We keep Portland moving.

Rural Development Initiatives (RDI) holds the uncompromising belief that answers and priorities, driven by a diversity of local people and built from a community’s assets, are key to achieving rural community prosperity. We work alongside rural communities to build networks of rural leaders, revitalize rural economies, and elevate rural voices to create community vitality.
