WHO ARE THEY?

The cluster that is most disproportionately male, Free-Market Libertarians are most likely to be self-employed or full-time employees. While they self-report as economically and socially conservative, they place more emphasis on being economically conservative.

VALUES AND BELIEFS

Cluster 7 believes in a constitutional right to combat-style firearms, are pro-business, prefer a smaller government with less regulation, and think personal (rather than outside) forces control one’s success. Free-Market Libertarians are the second most likely cluster to have both a strong opposition to government and to feel that Trump has been treated unfairly. Their less conservative social leanings include support for abortion rights, limiting campaign contributions, respecting same-gender romantic relationships, and encouraging political comprise. This group is also less religious than the other two conservative-leaning clusters (C6/C8).
