WHO ARE THEY?

Although Disengaged Traditional Conservatives have less annual income and formal education, they are the least likely group to be unemployed. This group identifies as socially conservative (33% above average) and is less likely to vote.

VALUES AND BELIEFS

This cluster exhibits liberal views on same-gender relationships and political compromise as a way of getting things done. Milder liberal traits show up in 9 out of 21 statements. Their strongest conservative beliefs lie in social issues, like the necessity of individual efficacy for personal success, negative views of immigrants, disagreeing that white people get special privileges not afforded to Black people, and low interest in decreasing consumption for environmental preservation. Disengaged Traditional Conservatives also emphasize the importance of religion and support a government that upholds Christian values.
