Cluster 2: Dispassionate Liberals

WHO ARE THEY?

Dispassionate Liberals echo the make-up of Party-Aligned Progressives, with respondents that are more likely to be elderly, women, highly educated, and wealthier than other groups.

VALUES AND BELIEFS

Just as the demographics of this group reflect the first cluster, so do their values. The difference between clusters 1 and 2 is the fervor of these beliefs, as Party-Aligned Progressives show more conviction. While Dispassionate Liberals are likely to vote, have a favorable view of the government, support racial justice efforts, and protect the environment, these views are supported less firmly than the previous cluster.

SAMPLE MAKEUP

This group represents 16% of the sample, 425/2610 of respondents. On the Typology -3 to +3 scale, the Dispassionate Liberals are moderately liberal at -1.3.
